Sleep science without the self-blame.
The Tired Generation is an editorial project about the mismatch between human sleep biology and the schedules, rooms, screens and expectations we build around it.
A different starting point
Fatigue, night waking, racing thoughts and temperature are not simply tests of discipline. They can reflect sleep pressure, body-clock timing, environment, habits and health. The articles explore those possibilities without turning a symptom into a diagnosis.
Each article is original, cites its sources and explains what the evidence can — and cannot — show.
The Mismatch Quiz
The quiz is a short educational tool. It looks at everyday patterns involving timing, sleep pressure, caffeine, mental arousal, night waking and schedule changes. Its result is a starting point for reflection and one small experiment, not a medical label.
Health and safety
This site provides general health education, not medical advice. It cannot diagnose sleep apnea, insomnia, anxiety, depression, circadian rhythm disorders or any other condition. Persistent or severe symptoms, breathing problems or dangerous daytime sleepiness deserve professional assessment. Do not drive or operate machinery when dangerously sleepy.
If you have severe breathing difficulty, chest pain, confusion, fainting or thoughts of self-harm, seek appropriate urgent or crisis support where you live.
